TAKE NOTE: the following text is only for OpenTherm boilers.
Hot water for the shower, for example, is generated by the central heating boiler. To provide high comfort, a central heating boiler ensures there is always a supply of hot water. So hot water readily comes out of the tap. It does use gas for this however.
To save energy, you can turn off the Keep Warm Function. The disadvantage is that it takes longer for hot water to come out of the tap.
Using the ThermoSmart portal, per block you can set whether you want to save energy or want comfort. For example, you can turn off the Keep Warm Function at night and turn it on during the day.
TAKE NOTE: Installations with boilers (hot water storage tank) will completely switch off the hot water preparation if you select “Save energy”. No hot water will come out of the tap. Central heating boilers with plate exchangers, instead of a boiler, respond as described. At most, it can take a bit longer for hot water to come out of the tap.
